Interpretation of Joseph Crawhall's 'A Lincolcshire Pasture'

This painting by Ian of the original artist’s study of 1882 serves to illustrate Galloway’s rural life of the period. The interpretation differs in so far as Ian adopting a much more rustic approach with a textured surface in order to give the relatively small piece, a strength and looseness of style. It will be included within Ian’s Glasgow Boys exhibition in homage to Crawhall who was a key member of the group.
